New Warpaint from Bon Marche!

First of all, i'd like to introduce you to Bon Marche.
They are an online store based in Philippines that carries authentic U.S. brand cosmetic products for a lower price (isn't that just dreamy??). Sounds fishy? i thought so too myself when i first stumbled upon them but no, they're totally legit and this is saying from a skeptic's point of view (call me what you will but i am very reluctant on buying low end makeups) . I'm not very trusting when it comes to online stores so i tend to search and find out for myself if they really are what they say are and i didn't find any stench on them.

Why are their products so cheap? Well, everyone knows, the best day to go on a shopping spree is on SALE DAY! So that's what they do! They order bulk from their supplier (i read that one of them is Ulta) during sales which makes the product cheaper compared to purchasing them directly from an international website (very handy i say). I gave it a try and here's what i got!

Tadaaaaa!

And now,... for the swatches
I swiped these babies once using my fingers on bare skin with a strip of primer below to show how each shade looks like on bare skin and on primed skin. I didn't build up the colors to stay true to what they really look like on my skin when applied once.

Hard Being the It Girl

 Description:
  • The Browbone: Matte soft pale pink, almost like a dead rose.
  • The Crease: Matte royal blue with a hint of micro glitters(it doesn't show here but to the naked eye, it does)
  • The Eyelid: Matte cream beige.
  Note:
  • The pink and cream shade are soft and velvety. They don't come out as opaque as the royal blue on a single layer but builds up good and can actually make daytime shades!

Three's a Party

With Flash
Description:
  • The Browbone: Snow matte white.
  • The Crease: True matte red with hints of micro glitters (again not that visible on camera but it is on naked eye)
  • The Lid: Velvety matte black.
Note:
  • This is probably my absolute favorite among all six palettes (sadly i was only able to grab hold of three). I expected the white to be really sheer but it's not (which is good imo). The black and red shades are gorgeous! I wish i have a spare one coz i'll be using these a lot.

I'm Seeing Triples!

Without Flash

With Flash
Description:
  • The Browbone: Matte young apple green. (Yeah i don't get why they labeled it for browbone).
  • The Crease: Matte cobalt blue.
  • The Eyelid: Matte grape mauve with slight sheen.
Note:
  • I don't agree with the green on browbone and i definitely don't see this combination as wearable (unless i use em one of those crazy make up looks). I like this one coz it's out of the ordinary and the colors are fun too.

Overall:
  • This is definitely a matte collection. Some of the shades are kind of chalky at first but blends very well. All of them are very pigmented, even the light shades (compared to similar shades that i own) .

All items i bought myself from:

Wearable Seafoam Green Cut-Crease

So i'm playing around with the color green... It's one of the hardest colors to work with (imo) and i've used it in some looks but they're not the wearable everyday kind.

I'm growing out my eyebrows so i'm not grooming em so much...

I'm currently in love with the seafoam blue-green

Tuned down the bright green with the seafoam blue-green almost making it look minty.

Egyptian Sunset

Did this look during sunset and i kind of wanted to race with the daylight to see if i could finish this look before it gets dark. So i kind of won :p

Anyway, the colors are of the second prettiest sunset i ever did see back from years ago. Golden, orange with a flush of pink skies and purple clouds. Oh if one could go back to that day

Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub Review

As promised, here's the review for my recent haul post.

Tony Moly's Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub

Comes in this cute lip pout jar (which is probably the reason i checked it out)

There were no descriptions on the counter whatsoever but it was pretty much self-explanatory when i opened the tester.

Before using the lip scrub

While using the lip scrub (i know, it's iffy x_x)

After the lip scrub.

Before and After

   Pros:

  • Does a good job on exfoliating your lips
  • Doesn't have a funny smell
  • Leaves your lips moist
  • Comes in a cute jar

      Cons:
    • The way it was packed is somewhat unhygienic because it doesn't come with any applicators. I suggest using a spatula.

    Tony Moly Micro Lip Haul

Tony Moly is one of those korean cosmetic stores that are currently trending here in my country. Naturally, i waltz in one and looked around for a while. As any korean beauty shop, their product packaging often look cute that coax you to take em home like pets and some are quite pricey. I usually fall victim to those alluring cuteness when i shop alone, but this time, my skepticism won (yay!).

      So i bought:

    • Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub for 348.00php
    • Prestige Snail Lip Treatment Stick for 448.00php

Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub and Prestige Snail Lip Treatment

I use this occasionally when my lips chap or too dry to wear a lipstick on.

Twisted to the maximum to show how much product there is.

Product reviews will be posted soon :]

    Winged Liner Tutorial

    A simple winged liner pic-torial.

    Start off with a primer.

Start from the outer corner of your eye, then gently flick towards the end of your eyebrow.

From near the pointy tip of the line you just drew, connect to your lash line.

    Fill the empty space.

Trace along your lash line, this time from the inner corner to the "wing"

    Products Used:
    • E.L.F. Cosmetics Eyelid Primer
    • E.L.F. Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in "Black"

    Punk Smokey Eye Tutorial

       Step by Step Tutorial:
    1. Primer up (i used E.L.F. Studio eye shadow primer in sheer). Then contour the outer v towards the middle crease to create a bit of depth
    2. Use a black pencil liner to trace as close as you can along your upper lash line and lower lash line, getting thinner as you reach the middle part.
    3. Apply black eye shadow over your lids. Remember to tap excess product to avoid dropping some and mess up your makeup.
    4. Use a flat brush (i used E.L.F. Studio Professional Eye Liner Brush) to apply black eye shadow along the outer V down to the lower lash line to blur out the liner pencil, giving it the smokey look.
    5. Using a shadow brush, apply highlighter on your brow bone to enhance your eyebrows and a stronger brow bone.
    6. Finally some liquid eyeliner and mascara.

    Products Used:
    • E.L.F. Studio Eyelid Primer
    • E.L.F. Studio 100 Piece Eyeshadow Palette
    • E.L.F. Studio Liquid eyeliner
    • CoverGirl Clump Crusher by Lash Blast Mascara

    Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Swatch

The maybelline color tattoo comes in ten shades...

    • Too Cool
    • Fierce and Tangy
    • Audacious Asphalt
    • Painted Purple
    • Bad To The Bronze
    • Pomegranate Punk
    • Tough as Taupe
    • Tenacious Teal
    • Bold Gold
    • Edgy Emerald

I've seen only 6 shades available to where i got mine, and i was a bit skeptic so i only got one

It has a creamy almost gel like consistency with micro glitters and pearlescent effect. I found it a bit hard to apply with a brush , so i used my finger instead. I'm still exploring this one to see which methods works and what effects if used with different applicators.

    Mini Loot!

         Weeks of savings goes to...

    Yup...

This moment of bliss after the stress of everyday and having to deal with unpleasant people...
Can't wait to try these out :D

The First Step is Always the Hardest to Make

So this is the first ever post i have on this blog, lemme break the ice.

You can call me Ric, Ric-ric, Mar-mar, whatever you prefer. Currently a student living in Philippines. The one who inspired me to go this far is my best friend who also happens to be my boyfriend.

I love cats, dogs, big polar bears, fat penguins and all cute fluffies.  I pass time by doing all sorts of characters with my face as a canvas, watching movies, TV sitcoms, series and anime. Video games are a must and i spend days and sometimes without sleep obsessing over one (So if i'm inactive for a week or so, it's probably because i got a new game).

Being an elder sister of three boys, i have accumulated a lot of patience with every fight, pranks, bad behaviors and shenanigans all these years but i also toughened up and would definitely fight back when needed. I will not tolerate rudeness in any form under my domain. Be nice and i'll be even nicer. So try not to be an arse when i'm around or i'll send you out with a sledgehammer.

I'm a fan of many things that aren't exactly normal... Living in a place where anything that strays from the ordinary isn't easily accepted and sometimes frowned upon makes it kinda hard for people to express themselves and how they want without being ridiculed or mocked.

This is the purpose of my blog. Simply practicing what i love doing and my individuality in hopes to encourage people who yearns to show the world who they are and what they're capable of without fear or insecurities (just don't do anything crude or criminal, aye?).

If you have questions, suggestions or anything you'd like to talk to me about, you are very welcome to do so :D

    My Features

This blog will serve as my facade, my way of showing people who i really am and the things i like to do... most of it will be about make up and some random things so i'll try to make this as organized as possible :]
