GEO Contact Lens Volturi Vampire Review

I've been obsessing over contact lenses lately since they emphasize my makeup looks and they remind me of my cosplay days (before i stopped for college).  I'm very skeptic about online shops and was scared i might stumble one of those that sell counterfeit products that give you permanent damage (eep!). I also have a bit of an issue when i browse for contact lenses, since most of the pictures i see don't show the actual appearance of the product and how they look like when worn (i have a thing for authenticity :p). So i thought i'd do reviews of contact lenses too.

So here's the Volturi Vampire as advertised

JANE! probably the only character i liked in the movie

And here they are when worn.
You are feeling sleepy... you are gonna gimme chocolate cake... yisss
Now, they have multiple red lenses that i thought i'd like, but this one caught my eye (sorry bout that). As you can see, it's far from the advertised photo but i'm not bashing them for that (this is not a shaming post). I just thought it's inconvenient when the photos don't show the exact product.

This is what they look like from afar.
Comfty shirt and unkempt messy hair anytime!
They don't look anime-ish (although they DO have a design that looks more cartoon-y) and i quite like the effect. They adjusted well and don't make me look like i have wandering eyes. The color payoff is quite good and you can actually tell that i have red eyes. I can say that this is close to what the volturi eyes looked like in the movie and i'm glad i purchased these.

For those who want to avail of these sweet babies, i got them from Rainbow Project

LA Splash Lip Couture and Lip Mousse Review

I have been dying to get my hands on these since they came out, specifically the shade "Venom" (yes, i'm always in a look out for black lippies) but sadly, my source didn't have that shade so i got these instead!

I got the shades Poison Apple, Latte Confession and Vampire in their Lip Couture Line and Inflamed in their Lip Mousse line.

Here's Vampire, Inflamed, Poison Apple and Latte Confession at first application.

And here's after they've completely dried. Took about a minute or two.

I put the reds beside each other so you can see the difference.

  • Poison Apple is more on the blue side of red.
  • Inflamed is a bright true red.
  • Vampire is a dark burgundy red. Kinda like coagulated blood.
  • Latte Confession is nude with rosy peach undertone.

I tested the durability of these lippies against water, hand soap and facial wash (scrub variant).

And here are the photos...

As you can see, the product durability is very impressive. a little goes a long way with this. If you put too much product on, it will become cakey, uneven and feather early.

PROS:
  • Long Lasting.
  • Very Pigmented
  • Dries Easily
  • Waterproof
  • Grease Resistant (that means BURGER! yaaaay!)
  • Cruelty Free
CONS:
  • Can be hard to work with (you need to be fast when applying this)

New Warpaint from Bon Marche!

First of all, i'd like to introduce you to Bon Marche.
They are an online store based in Philippines that carries authentic U.S. brand cosmetic products for a lower price (isn't that just dreamy??). Sounds fishy? i thought so too myself when i first stumbled upon them but no, they're totally legit and this is saying from a skeptic's point of view (call me what you will but i am very reluctant on buying low end makeups) . I'm not very trusting when it comes to online stores so i tend to search and find out for myself if they really are what they say are and i didn't find any stench on them.

Why are their products so cheap? Well, everyone knows, the best day to go on a shopping spree is on SALE DAY! So that's what they do! They order bulk from their supplier (i read that one of them is Ulta) during sales which makes the product cheaper compared to purchasing them directly from an international website (very handy i say). I gave it a try and here's what i got!

Tadaaaaa!

And now,... for the swatches
I swiped these babies once using my fingers on bare skin with a strip of primer below to show how each shade looks like on bare skin and on primed skin. I didn't build up the colors to stay true to what they really look like on my skin when applied once.

Hard Being the It Girl

 Description:
  • The Browbone: Matte soft pale pink, almost like a dead rose.
  • The Crease: Matte royal blue with a hint of micro glitters(it doesn't show here but to the naked eye, it does)
  • The Eyelid: Matte cream beige.
  Note:
  • The pink and cream shade are soft and velvety. They don't come out as opaque as the royal blue on a single layer but builds up good and can actually make daytime shades!

Three's a Party

Description:
  • The Browbone: Snow matte white.
  • The Crease: True matte red with hints of micro glitters (again not that visible on camera but it is on naked eye)
  • The Lid: Velvety matte black.
Note:
  • This is probably my absolute favorite among all six palettes (sadly i was only able to grab hold of three). I expected the white to be really sheer but it's not (which is good imo). The black and red shades are gorgeous! I wish i have a spare one coz i'll be using these a lot.

I'm Seeing Triples!

Description:
  • The Browbone: Matte young apple green. (Yeah i don't get why they labeled it for browbone).
  • The Crease: Matte cobalt blue.
  • The Eyelid: Matte grape mauve with slight sheen.
Note:
  • I don't agree with the green on browbone and i definitely don't see this combination as wearable (unless i use em one of those crazy make up looks). I like this one coz it's out of the ordinary and the colors are fun too.

Overall:
  • This is definitely a matte collection. Some of the shades are kind of chalky at first but blends very well. All of them are very pigmented, even the light shades (compared to similar shades that i own) .

Wearable Seafoam Green Cut-Crease

So i'm playing around with the color green... It's one of the hardest colors to work with (imo) and i've used it in some looks but they're not the wearable everyday kind.

I'm growing out my eyebrows so i'm not grooming em so much...

I'm currently in love with the seafoam blue-green

Tuned down the bright green with the seafoam blue-green almost making it look minty.

Another shot of the cut crease

  Products Used:
  • ELF Cosmetics 100 Piece Palette
  • ELF Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in "Black"
  • ELF Cosmetics Eyebrow Kit in "Medium"
  • BYS Pencil Liner in "White"

Egyptian Sunset

Did this look during sunset and i kind of wanted to race with the daylight to see if i could finish this look before it gets dark. So i kind of won :p

Anyway, the colors are of the second prettiest sunset i ever did see back from years ago. Golden, orange with a flush of pink skies and purple clouds. Oh if one could go back to that day

Note to self: Night time mode delivers better color quality.
Products Used:
  • E.L.F. Cosmetics 100 piece palette
  • E.L.F. Cosmetics liquid eyeliner in "black"
  • Wet n'  Wild ColorIcon blusher in "Heather Silk

Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub Review

As promised, here's the review for my recent haul post.

Tony Moly's Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub

Comes in this cute lip pout jar (which is probably the reason i checked it out)

There were no descriptions on the counter whatsoever but it was pretty much self-explanatory when i opened the tester.

Before using the lip scrub

While using the lip scrub (i know, it's iffy x_x)

After the lip scrub.

Before and After

   Pros:

  • Does a good job on exfoliating your lips
  • Doesn't have a funny smell
  • Leaves your lips moist
  • Comes in a cute jar

      Cons:
    • The way it was packed is somewhat unhygienic because it doesn't come with any applicators. I suggest using a spatula.

    Tony Moly Micro Lip Haul

Tony Moly is one of those korean cosmetic stores that are currently trending here in my country. Naturally, i waltz in one and looked around for a while. As any korean beauty shop, their product packaging often look cute that coax you to take em home like pets and some are quite pricey. I usually fall victim to those alluring cuteness when i shop alone, but this time, my skepticism won (yay!).

      So i bought:

    • Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub for 348.00php
    • Prestige Snail Lip Treatment Stick for 448.00php

Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub and Prestige Snail Lip Treatment

I use this occasionally when my lips chap or too dry to wear a lipstick on.

Twisted to the maximum to show how much product there is.

Product reviews will be posted soon :]

    My Features

This blog will serve as my facade, my way of showing people who i really am and the things i like to do... most of it will be about make up and some random things so i'll try to make this as organized as possible :]
